Memorial Flat of Vasily Belov first took part in “Night at the Museum”

06 December 2017

Adults and children attended “Café Theatre”.

This year the Memorial Flat of Vasily Belov has first joined the International Action “Night at the Museum”. The event was organized as poetry readings. Its participants remembered the names of all local poets whose anniversaries were and would be celebrated in 2017 (K. Batyushkov, I. Severyanin, N. Klyuev, V. Shalamov, V. Belov, O. Fokina and I. Churbanova), played literature games getting tickets for a free visit to the memorial flat, listened some modern verses of Vologda’s residents who decided to perform in an open mike format. The Memorial Flat of Vasily Belov seamlessly continued the idea of the exclusive program of the Vologda State Museum-Preserve “The Parade of Bright Dates” with this literature project. It marked the 870th anniversary of the foundation of Vologda and Veliky Ustyug, the 880th anniversary of the foundation of Totma, the 80th anniversary of the establishment of the Vologda region and the centenary of the Revolutions of 1917.

It is worth reminding that children, adults and those people who had registered to recite verses of local authors on the stage beforehand participated in “Café Theatre”. For example, children from the bard club of the Vologda Multidisciplinary Lyceum, actors of the theatre studio “Romantic Powder” (in the Central Library System of Vologda), poets Maria Markova, Svetlana Sineva, Yevgenia Malinovskaya-Izmaylova, Elvira Trikoz, singer Yanina Frolova.

The poetry readings as a part of a large event are rather unusual: a lot is spontaneous, lively and emotional… And the hall itself (the round hall of the South-Western tower in the Vologda Kremlin) made the atmosphere of the event magic. It is not by chance that visitors still express their opinions in the social networking sites. For instance, this is the comment of Irina K., “…Time is a strange thing. It is often full of work, everyday problems and vanity. It is everlasting. And people not. Therefore we must learn to expand time and to press in some moments of communication with those who are interesting and dear to us. …Find ten minutes to read or to listen to poems, fairy tales and prose. These minutes only seem to be unimportant. Everything reposes on them in fact. Thank you for a wonderful event!”
