His wife Svetlana conducted a tour of the gallery assembled during one night. The artist said, “It is she who organizes all exhibitions. I go to my workshop and paint. And she calls people, arranges everything and solves all issues. You know it is so difficult to organize a display, especially a display abroad!”

I painted it within 15 minutes. That state of mind that was reflected here lasted for 15 minutes”. He showed a small picture about the sea. “The painting on which I worked for a long time was Andrey Rublyov. I gathered material for it during several years… And in general, I cannot help but paint. In such periods, I am uneasy in my mind and it seems I miss something… harmony… So when I have such feelings, I take a sketch-book and paint at once”, said the artist.

In 2010, at the invitation of the Ministry of Culture of Egypt, V.N. Skachkov represented Russia at the Third International Symposium of Artists in Luxor where his picture “Nilotic Boots” was bought by the Museum of Modern Egyptian Art (Cairo) and “Luxor.
