Parcel to museum

20 February 2017

The Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve thanks T.A. Potemkina for the invaluable gift that has replenished the museum funds and the interest in the history of her family from Kirillov.

Tatiana Anatolievna carefully kept and handed over wonderful embroidered and lace articles to our museum. They were made in the early 20th century by needlewomen of the family from Kirillov – the Denisovs. The presented items created with artistic talent and amazing skills will take a rightful place at the museum exhibitions.

T.A. Potemkina came to Kirillov – the native town of her mother Vera Pavlovna Denisova – in summer 2016. After the visit to the Kirillo-Belozersky Museum-Reserve and conversation with its employees, Tatiana Anatolievna sent several pictures of her relatives taken in the early 20th century by e-mail. T.A. Potemkina wrote in her letter to the museum, “I will be glad if something is interesting to the museum or local craftswomen”.
